Traveller tips
- Carry the passport after check-in. A traveller on Reddit (June 2025) recommended a passport case, because the original passport is used constantly after landing: hotels, trains and ticket gates all check it. One traveller's advice. (cv-x, 2025-06-24)
- Queue remotely at popular restaurants. Most popular restaurants don't take bookings; they run digital queues on Dianping or Meituan, which can save 30–60 minutes. With a foreign number the apps have fewer features, so ask your hotel to take a number for you, or arrive around 17:30. From traveller guides, not an official source. (Wander in China)
