What this is

China Footnotes gives travel information only. We do not sell tickets, make bookings or act for any venue, transport company or government body.

How to read the information

Every practical fact (opening hours, prices, booking rules, passport and payment notes) shows its source and the date we read it. A checked fact means we read a source on that date, not that it is confirmed for today. Rules in China change, sometimes at short notice, so confirm anything important with the official source before you travel. We are not responsible for losses caused by information that has changed or is wrong.

Traveler tips

Tips are short summaries that we wrote from public posts by other travelers (for example on Xiaohongshu, Reddit and blogs). Each one links to its source. They describe one person's experience and are not official rules.

Content and photos

Our summaries are original writing. Photos are credited to their authors and used under the licenses shown with each photo. If you hold rights in something we link to or summarize and want it changed or removed, email will@chinafootnotes.com.
