## Why go

Shaanxi History Museum’s main building near Xiaozhai holds archaeological collections from the region’s long history. Its ordinary admission is free, but a timed reservation is required; the main museum and the separate Qin-Han branch have different entry arrangements and tickets. This page covers only the main building at 91 Xiaozhai East Road.

## What to do

- **See the main galleries.** Use the main building’s permanent archaeology and history galleries to trace Shaanxi’s dynasties.
- **See the Hejiacun treasures and the Tang murals.** The Hejiacun hoard display (Hall 4) is a free special display inside the main building. The Tang mural treasures hall is a separate paid exhibition on the east-side lower level.
- **Find the South Plaza entrance.** Go to the main-building site on Xiaozhai East Road and follow the entrance signs for your booked time slot.

- Skip if: If no reservation remains, you can still enter without one if you are 65 or older, or use the museum’s online exhibitions.
